Parkway joins Corn Exchange in Newbury celebrations

In celebration of Newbury’s rich heritage and exciting future, Parkway - the new 475,000
sq ft shopping and residential scheme, set to open its shopping centre next month (27
October 2011) - has teamed up with historic arts and theatre venue, the Corn Exchange,
to support the building’s 150th anniversary celebrations.

Joining with the Corn Exchange Trust, Parkway will sponsor a number of community
events and performances to commemorate the venue’s 150th anniversary and will also
add their support to Halloween Hullabaloo and the annual Pantomime, Robin Hood. The
Corn Exchange will also play a part in the Parkway launch celebrations, as the starting
point for the spectacular launch parade on Thursday 27 October (2011).

Having first opened in 1861, the Corn Exchange is one of town’s most iconic venues,
playing host to some of the Newbury community’s most memorable events. Following a
£3.5 million refurbishment, the Corn Exchange reopened in 1993 as a professional 400-
seat theatre, it became an independent charity in 2000 and now sees over 100,000
visitors pass through its doors each year.

Parkway will open its doors to Newbury shoppers at 11 am on 27 October with a line-up
of top high street names, including Superdry, Topshop, H&M, Lakeland, Jigsaw, Argento
and Hotel Chocolat, as well as anchors Debenhams and M&S.

Parkway comprises a total of 295,000 sq ft of shops and restaurants, a 550-space
shopper car park and 147 stylish new apartments.
